While some people enjoyed 80 degree heat in Florida the M & R team had a blast at Chalgrove flying all manner of toys!
I finished my latest Composite ARF 2 x 2 Extra 300 with electric power-this is the same airframe as I have powered by a Petrol ZDZ40, but with an Axi 5330 18 and a G Sonic 20 x 10 prop and TP 6000 10s cells. This combo is lighter than the petrol model with fantastic performance! The first flight of 10 minutes used 4000mAh and still showed good vertical performance towards the end of the flight.
Trevor finished his Ducty and proved what a nice flying aeroplane this is with several dead stick landings while he set up the motor.
Tim Jenks continued to dial in his Comp ARF Lightning/JetCat P160 combo with several successful flights throughout the day.
I finally had the chance to unleash my Bandit/JetCat P160 which proved to be...fast!
Rob "the box" Westwater ran the first Kerosin start JetCat in our group with a P120 fitted to his super reliable HotSpot...after the first run I asked him how it went and he commented that is did what it said on the box. Three flights during the day proved that the cold weather does not affect the starting, unlike the gas system which tends to freeze.
