Jetcat Turbine Setup

When installing either the Jetcat P80 or P120 Turbines it is worth
considering the fuel and Gas installation.

The Instructions that come with the motor show the feed pipe broken with a T piece for filling. This uses one of the Brass quick release fittings supplied with the Turbine. We find that this does not give a reliable seal and may cause air leaks. When fitting out your jet its is easy to consider a tank set-up that will allow the filling through a separate tube.

Motors & Rotors offer free advice on any installation.

On a HotSpot or Kangeroo we fit two nipples in the bottle body for filling/venting and a double ended nipple in the cap to feed the motor. In Aircraft where two tanks are used we find that feeding the tanks in series gives a more consistent run. Fitting a BVM UAT (available from us) does cure most poor installations, and will benefit any installation.

The above mentioned quick release should be lubricated on the gas fill line using silicone oil, the Butane/propane acts as a degreaser and removes any lubrication, hence without lubrication they occasionally stick.

The connection into the quick release is the silver male with blue nut (Not the Brass male nipple) There are three males supplied, one for the gas filler tube, one for the onboard gas connection and the extra one for the fuel filler that we recommend is kept as a spare unit.

The JetCat turbines prove time and again that they are the class of the available units. The installed weight is less than the opposition and the electronics provide the most hassle free operation of any available unit.
