We had the chance to test the new Graupner Mini Showflyer, Steve assembled
the model in two evenings, Glass painted cowl and fitted canopy and pre hinged
surfaces make building a breeze.
It's very light 2100g showing why Graupner show an electric version in the
instruction book.
We fitted a YS 63FS, which is at the top of the power options and WOW! it's
great.
One of the easiest to prop hang aeroplanes I've tried, does great Harriers,
waterfalls etc.
Amazing thing is the price £119.99!!
Electric Conversion
We have converted one of Graupner's Mini ShowFlyer fun fly models to electric
power.
The instructions with the kit show a Graupner outrunner motor, but we fitted
an AXI 4130-16 larger outrunner that gives great performance using ThunderPower
6s 4200 mAh cells.
Using a Graupner 14 x 6 prop the current is very low allowing 20 minute flights
including prop hanging.
For more vertical performance I'm going to try a 14 x 10 APC prop, which will
drop the flight time to around 10 minutes.
The all up weight is 4.75 lb
The ARTF model goes together in a couple of evenings all for £119.99
