Micro
Star 400 tips The
M & R team have been flying the Micro Star 400 for a few months
now and have found the following:-
The stock motor performs very well if run in before use. We ran the motor
for 1.5 hours on 2v glow battery to bed in the brushes before use.
We now have 30 flights plus on our first model and the motor still performs
well using three Li-Poly cells.
The stock tail linkage is too stiff so replace it with a length of carbon
rod.
The stock set up is very stable, but cyclic response is poor. Bend the
flybar arms in to increase the paddle deflection (See
pic)
Lightly lube the brass pinion gears with a silicon grease before the
first run.
We have fitted our models out with 4 x HS 55 Hitec servos and a CSM HLG
200 LW gyro, a Jeti 18 speed controller and suitable Rx (I'm using a
JR 770 PCM)
Battery wise I have success with the Flight Power 830 and 1050 mAh pack
and also the Thunder Power 1320 mAh packs. A balsa extension piece is
needed to get the cells far enough forward for correct C of G. Dave Wilshere
